Volkswagen – A Brief Overview

The Volkswagen Beetle has been in production for over 70 years. It is one of the most successful cars in the world, with more than 15 million units sold. The design is relatively unchanged since 1935. In the early 1970s, sales of the Beetle slowed.

In 1969, Volkswagen acquired the NSU Motorenwerke AG, and merged it with Auto Union to create the modern Audi company.
